Trans Parc Net 2024 - Háldi TBA - Norway and Finland

We are delighted to invite the EUROPARC Transboundary Area family to the EUROPARC TransParcNet Meeting in Háldi Transboundary Area 02.-05.09.2024. The first week of September is a great time to visit the Arctic, the Northern parts of Norway and Finland, as the autumn colours normally are in full bloom. Please note - Due to hotel capacity, we have limited availability of 45 participants.

The Háldi Transboundary Area (TBA) consists of Reisa National Park and Ráisduottarháldi Protected Landscape Area in Norway and Käsivarsi Wilderness Area in Finland. In Norway we will stay in the villages of Storslett and Sørkjosen in the municipality of Nordreisa. In Finland we will stay in the village of Kilpisjärvi, which lies by the shores of a great lake carrying the same name. During the meeting we will travel by bus between the locations and see more of the region in Troms county in Norway and Lapland in Finland.

Travel to the area in is best done flying toTromsø airport and then our chartered conference bus from there. Another option is to travel to Rovaniemi Airport Finland or Alta airport Norway and drive from there with a rented car. Another option is flying all the way to Sørkjosen airport (SOJ) from Tromsø (20min flight), where the meeting in Nordreisa municipality will be held.

The meeting fee covers general costs: travel by bus from Tromsø and transport that is part of the meeting programme, accommodation in double rooms, breakfast, lunch and dinner on meeting days. There will be additional cost paid on site for those choosing own transportation, one field trip option (river boat excursion on the Reisa river) and those having single room (limited availability).

Please note: Once you have registered you will receive a confirmation e-mail from Deltager AS (check your junk mail, too). If you have not received a confirmation e-mail, then you are not registered. Contact James McDonald-Begg if you have technical issues with your registration.

Important information about payment by invoice: If you choose payment by invoice (fakturabetaling) please add your order number and invoice number as a message. You must also pay in Norwegian kroner (NOK).
