Tango in Hell, version 2.0

Want to dance tango in Hell?

Tango in Hell is a compact milonga weekend featuring international DJs from Sweden, Germany, Italy and Norway. Everything is at one place, situated at Scandic Hell Hotel, a 600 meter walking distance from  Trondheim airport and Værnes train station. Hell Shopping Center is 100 meters away, so basically you have all you need within eyesight 🙂

At the hotel you will dance and dine in very nice surroundings. The price  includes the following:

  • Access to 4 traditional milongas (a total of 18 hours)
  • 2 nights in double room, check in Friday, check out Sunday
  • 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners
  • Free parking
  • Free transport from/to airport
  • Pool, sauna, fitness room and relaxation area at the top floor of the hotel

Note: the “first come, first serve” principle does not apply for the registration. Our most important goal is to mix different people from different tango communities so old friends can meet and new friendships can be formed.

We are aiming towards a balance between followers and leaders. Registration in couples will make it easier for us to manage and for you to enter 🙂.

La Sonia, Frankfurt, Germany

La Sonia from Frankfurt (Germany) had been a Tango dancer for around 8 years, when she added another packaging form to her usual tango-addiction dosage three years ago, when starting to DJ.

Since then, she has DJ-ed in various milongas, marathons and festivals throughout Germany and Austria.

"Music should be for the dancers and so should be the DJ", is her belief. She switches between rhythmic, romantic and dramatic tandas, moving people, moving emotions and trying to make most of the dancers happy during her sets.

Eva-Lena Ahlberg, Linköping, Sweden

DJ Eva-Lena started DJing in 2007, it was also about the same time she started dancing. Tango music has fascinated her from the very beginning, especially discovering new aspects dancing and listening over and over again.

She has played in several European countries and is a resident DJ at the local “Milonga la Barranca” in Linköping.

She plays the “golden age of music” meaning the sounds from the 1920’s to the 1950’s. Even though she prepares her music days before the milonga she is playing at, the final touch is done at the milonga, depending on the mood, rhythm and flow that is present at night.

Dag Stenvoll, Bergen, Norway

I've been DJ-ing regularly since 2010 in my "tango home" Jekteviken in Bergen, and elsewhere. I prefer music which combines driving rhythm with lyrical or dramatic elements, giving space for dynamic dancing (changes of speed and of intensity).

I hope that my sense of musicality, knowledge of tango music and conscious choice of cortinas will make you happy. Then I will be happy too. Then we will all be happy.

DJ Nisse, Linköping, Sweden

DJ Nisse from Linköping in Sweden will be our new DJ on Saturday night. He is one of our regular DJ that has been in Trondheim many, many times. DJ Nisse mostly plays the “golden age” tandas with plenty of playfulness and romance in it.

He also loves a good beat and finding good compositions within every single tanda. We are looking forward to listening to your music in Hell!
