ATTUNING TO RADICAL WHOLENESS

Ashtanga Yoga, Mysore Style, Meditation, Pranayama & Philosophy 3-days Intensive with KIA NADDERMIER Oslo 27-29th October 2023

Kia integrates the philosophy & practice of Ashtanga Yoga, Mysore Style with traditional Pranayama, Kriyas and Buddhist Mindfulness meditation. During the intensive we immerse into these somatic practices and teachings to cultivate an understanding of yoga as a portal to radical wholeness. This attunement to the wisdom of our own embodiment creates a deep sense of belonging and compassion that reaches far beyond our yoga mat.

“I believe the process of embodiment to be a portal to the deepest source of our being – which always is, and always has been radically whole and complete”

WORKSHOP PROGRAM

Ashtanga Yoga Master Class - Practice, Principles and Philosophy

Friday Evening at 17.15 (2h45)

Kia will share inquiries and insights for developing a deeper experience of Ashtanga Yoga as a practice for our entire being, a portal to radical wholeness. We will journey through key elements with an explorative mindset, looking at common energetic principles and actions to help cultivate a transformative yet sustainable practice in rooted in yogic teachings. This profoundly comprehensive session will open new dimensions in our practice that we will continue to explore and expand on in the Mysore sessions that follows.

Shanti Path, Meditation & Mysore Practice  (2h30)

Saturday and Sunday morning (One group - start time 08)

We open our morning with traditional Peace Prayer and a guided meditation to attune to the quality of the present. Kia will then guide us through the first movements to set a common intention, before continuing into self practice at our own rhythm.

These sessions allow for your personal practice process to unfold, while receiving individual guidance from Kia to further deepen your experience. With a sincere dedication to the growth and development of each of her students, she offers an inclusive, safe and inspiring space open for personal exploration and shared inquiry.

We welcome all interested practitioners of all levels and backgrounds, but you need to be able to practice Mysore Style Self Practice.

Philosophy & Pranayama

Saturday afternoon 13  (1h30)

Drawing from traditional Yogic and Buddhist teachings, Kia shares reflections and insights, and guides us through classical Pranayamas in the lineage of Kaivalyadham. We deepen our appreciation for the subtleties of breath and its significance in yogic practices and philosophy.

New students will be mindfully introduced to traditional Pranayama, whilst those with more experience refine and expand their practice and understanding.

Asana Inquiry & Adjustments - Awareness l Principles, Practice & Theory

Saturday Afternoon following Pranayama (ca 2h30)

Refining our internal awareness and observation skills will be the ground for our inquiry into the inner and outer form of Asana. We pay careful attention to each individual, helping to build an intelligent, mindful practice and relevant teaching and adjusting tools.

This session is designed to support practitioners and teachers wishing to expand their understanding of the art of adjusting, as well as uncover the dynamics that shape the method we teach and learn through.

Pranayama & Satsang

Sunday afternoon 13.00 (ca 1h45)

Satsang means exploring truth (Sat) in the gathering of ones spiritual community (Sangha). This last session of our workshop, Kia guides us through a healing pranayama practice, and offers space for Satsang – discussion and inquiries around the practice and philosophy of yoga.

The Workshop will be taught in English.

Since this is an organic process, we have intentionally allowed for 30-mins flexibility in terms of finishing time, thank you for accommodating this in your planning.
