In this course you will learn the process from unwashed sheep wool to yarn, using a spindle.
It is a practical and intuitive tool that is well suited for learning a lot in a short time.
It will also make it easy for you to continue on your own later, since the spindle is a little and portable tool.
Spinning a thread form loose fibers is actually an easy thing to do.
It is shaped by the fibers traveling through your hands and twisting around each other in many different ways. Sometimes several times.
The thread is "turned" through the hands and thus always becomes unique based on which hand the individual has.
A thread is a thread, but a hand-spun thread is always something a little more than a thread… It has an imprint.
Vigdis Valde is a teacher and a lecturer in arts and crafts with the additional education "Textile culture".
She specializes in hand-spinning wool. Vigdis has mediated spinning on both spindle and spinning wheel for a number of years.
The fee includes lunch, tool and material. We will use different norwegian wool.

Lær å spinne med ull fra norske saueraser.
På kurset vil du lære å spinne med en håndtein. Det er et praktisk og intuitivt redskap som egner seg godt når en skal lære mye på kort tid.
Det er og enkelt å fortsette videre på egenhånd med en håndtein.
Å spinne en tråd er først og fremst enkelt. Den formes ved at fibrene vandrer gjennom hendene og snos om hverandre på mange ulike måter. Noen ganger flere ganger. Tråden “dreies” gjennom hendene og blir dermed alltid unik ut fra hvilket håndlag den enkelte har.
En tråd er en tråd, men en håndspunnet tråd er alltid noe litt mer enn en tråd…Den har et avtrykk.
Vigdis er faglærer i kunst- og håndverk med etterutdanningen “Tekstilkultur”. Hun har fordypning i håndspinning av ull.
Vigdis har formidlet spinning både på håndtein og rokk i en årrekke, og arbeider mest med vill-og spelsauull.
Kursavgiften dekker lunsj, utstyr og materialer.
