Breastfeeding Prep

Breastfeeding Prep with Kendall from Ammeklinikken

Welcome! Even though breastfeeding is natural, it can require a lot of a new mom. There is so much learn, and even if you get help at the hospital, it is always a great advantage for both you and the baby that you have an idea of what to expect and the most common challenges you may encounter (before you deliver).

The best way to ensure success with breastfeeding is through our prep course where we give you practical advice and tips for the magical first hours and days with your baby. When you are prepared and you have absorbed our knowledge, you will be empowered and feel calm and in control of how you will approach breastfeeding your newborn . The course takes place at Zoom so you can sit in peace and quiet at home on sofas and get all the knowledge you need. Partners are welcome!

WHY PARTICIPATE IN OUR COURSE?

Our experience is that many mothers in retrospect wish that they had prepared more for breastfeeding, because they see that many problems could have been avoided if they had just known a few key things. A dedicated breastfeeding course can complement the information you get from  your birth preparation courses, and gives you the opportunity to:

-learn about newborns and their behaviors and abilities

-learn about your how your body produces milk and how that is affected by the relationship between you and your baby

-how to do actually breastfeed and review challenges (and solutions!) that may arise.

- get a realistic preparation for the changes that come with a new baby in the family

- discuss questions and concerns you have about breastfeeding.

-how to manage all of the well-meaning advice you get after the birth (and there will be a lot of that advice ......)

WHAT DO WE GO THROUGH THE COURSE?

- how to get started with breastfeeding, and the very first meal

-the importance of skin-to-skin contact for both babies and mothers

 -breastfeeding positions and latch

-milk production

-what is normal for the newborn baby

The course lasts for approx. 2.0 (+) hours and is equally suitable for both first-time and experienced mothers. This is a safe place for all types of families, partners are welcome! There will be plenty of time to ask questions. Sit back and relax and learn all about breastfeeding from the comfort of your home. You will be sent and linked to the course before the start and instruction on how to log in. We will spend about 1.5-2 hours on the course itself and then the last half hour is set aside to answer questions from you.

Throughout the course, you can submit questions about the chat function in zoom.

After the course, you will receive an E-book on breastfeeding with our best advice for childbirth. You will also receive a link to record the course so you can watch it again.

We look forward to seeing you! XO Ammeklinikken
