This statement describes how Deltager AS (VAT no. 982 111 986) uses cookies (cookies) when using our websites as web and / or registration pages (including, but not limited to, blogg.deltager.no, www.deltager. com and www.participant.no) and mobile applications. Hereafter collectively referred to as the Solutions.
All of our Solutions are owned and operated by Deltager AS (visit address Sognsveien 75E, 0855 Oslo). Hereafter referred to as "we", "us" or "our".
By "Visitors" we mean any person who visits our Solutions, whether they create an Organizer account, user profile or sign up for an event. By "Organizers" we mean the person who publishes an event via our Solutions.
We will describe below how you can manage your cookies but also for what purposes they are used for our Solutions.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored in the browser of the device you are using when you visit a website. Call them small digital footprints that allow a website to recognize you and your preferences based on your visits.
A concrete example of this is an online store, where a cookie will remember your password and username at login. Furthermore, it can remember which products you added to your cart on your last visit or it will make sure you only see ads from product pages you have actually visited.
We are talking about how cookies are used to personalize and enhance your user experience.
What kind of cookies are used
Cookies can be categorized into three types:
Session-dependent cookie
This type of cookie is deleted after the end of the session, ie when you close your browser. Examples of this are that you register whether a user is on the website and what choices you make.
Fixed cookie
Unlike session-dependent cookies, a fixed cookie will be stored longer as it will store locally on your device. Fixed cookies can typically include authentication information, language settings, and user preferences. This means that website visits will be faster and more customized for the user. Most fixed cookies have an expiration date where they are automatically deleted after a certain period, but you can delete them at any time (see section below for managing your cookies)
First or third-party cookie
These are cookies (which may otherwise be fixed or session-dependent) that are placed on the website to deliver, customize, and measure the effectiveness of ads. This means that when you visit our Solutions, we will be able to target ads through third-party solutions.
However, we do not allow third-party advertisers to post their own cookies. On the other hand, the Organizer may place cookies on their registration pages, but they must then follow our guidelines. Should you experience exposure to ads that are suspected to come from a visit to a sign-up page through our Solutions, you will need to contact the Promoter for more information.
Keep in mind that you can turn off or restrict the use of cookies in your browser at any time. Further down on this page we will show you how.
What cookies are used in our Solutions
Below you will see a list of the cookies used in our Solutions. This means that visits to our Solutions will be affected by the following cookies:
Facebook Pixel / remarketing
Facebook Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Facebook") allows us to target advertisements (using pixels) to visitors to our Solutions through Facebook's platform. For example, we can show ads for a new blog post on Facebook, only to those who have visited our Solutions (remarketing)
Facebook Pixel is a fixed cookie and data should be in accordance. Facebook Pixel is deleted after 90 days. The following information will be collected via Facebook Pixel:
Data from HTTP header (such as IP addresses, browser information, document, page rank, previously visited page, and user agent)
Pixel-specific data such as Pixel ID and Facebook Cookie (which sites you visit)
Facebook conversions (how to use the site)
It is important to emphasize that the data obtained through Facebook Pixel is anonymous to us and that we only use this data for statistical purposes. This helps us measure the performance of marketing activities and publish new relevant, quality content.
The data is linked to your Facebook account, and can be used by Facebook for its own advertising purposes. In Facebook settings you can restrict the different categories of data collected by Facebook. For more information about Facebook's privacy policy, see Facebook's Privacy Policy .
In addition to managing rights through Facebook settings, you can also turn off or restrict the use of pixels or cookies in your browser for specific web pages. Look further down this page for how to manage this.
Social media plug-ins
These are third-party cookies that, for example, allow sharing of content from our Solutions to social media. These may be platforms such as, but not limited to, LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
By using sharing buttons or other action buttons, you will allow a third party to link this information (such as a "Like") to your user profile on the relevant social media platform. There may be data that tells you which website you have visited.
Deltager AS does not collect data or statistics from this type of cookie, and please note that it is optional to use sharing buttons or other action buttons that allow you to share data with other social media platforms. We will therefore need to refer to the respective social media platforms for more information so that one can understand what it means to share this type of data:
Facebook
Twitter
LinkedIn
Look further down for more information on the processing of cookies in your browser.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics (from Google Inc., hereinafter referred to as "Google") is an analytics tool that allows us to analyze the use of our Solutions so that we can optimize content and provide visitors with a better experience.
Using Google Analytics, we can analyze the following information, among others:
IP Address
Pages You've Visited
Time Spent on That
Referral Page (For example, which URL a visitor came from)
Which browser you use
Operating System and Device
Geographical Overview
Worth mentioning is that your IP address will be anonymized by Google and will never be available to Deltager AS. The IP-address is also not merged with other Google data and we will never be able to identify the single visitor based on the statistics provided by Google.
The data sent by us that is linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g., User ID) or advertising ID is automatically deleted after a maximum of 24 months. For more information about how Google uses and collects data, read more about this in their Privacy Policy .
As a visitor, you can disable Google Analytics tracking with a browser extension or you can configure how your browser handles this type of cookie (more information on this can be found further down this page)
Google AdWords
Google AdWords (from Google Inc., hereinafter referred to as "Google") is an advertising and analytics tool provided by Google.
To measure conversions with Google AdWords, a pixel code is installed when you click on one of Deltager AS' ads displayed by Google.
This means that when you click on one of our ads and open one of our pages with the pixel code (assuming this cookie has not expired), the conversion is recorded. Using the conversion pixel, Deltager AS can get the total number of conversions and analyze the effectiveness of our ads.
The pixels expire after 30 days and do not use to identify users. Google uses different cookies for the various services offered through Google AdWords, but the information contained therein is not consolidated with other cookies
You can read more about Google AdWords and how they treat your privacy here .
Visitors with a Google Account (such as Gmail) can manage their ad settings so they will apply to other browsers and devices (provided you are signed in to them). If the visitor does not have an account with Google , you can still manage your ad settings , but that will only apply to that browser and device.
You can also manage cookies through your browser, and more information on this is further down the page.
Google DoubleClick
Google DoubleClick (from Google Inc., hereinafter referred to as "Google") is an advertising tool used for buying and selling ads. It represents a market where advertisers can bid for banner ads across the Internet and therefore will have a larger impact area than the Google Display Network (also provided by Google).
Google DoubleClick uses two specific cookies to get visitor information:
IDE is used to record and report the visitor's actions after viewing or clicking on an ad, the purpose of which is to measure the effectiveness (for example, in the form of a specific conversion) and target ads. This cookie expires after one (1) year.
Test_cookie is used to check if the visitor's browser supports the use of cookies. This is a session-based cookie, which means it will expire when you close your browser.
For more information on how Google DoubleClick uses cookies, click here.
Hotjar
We use Hotjar (provided by Hotjar Ltd.) to better understand the user's needs and to optimize the Solution and the user experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us understand visitors better (for example, how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click on, what users like and dislike, etc.) so that they can develop and maintain our Solution with visitor feedback.
Hotjar uses cookies and other technology to collect data on the user's behavior and their devices (especially the device's IP address (received and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only ), preferred language used to view our site). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile.
Neither Hotjar nor Deltager AS will use data to identify individual users or to match it with additional data on a single visitor. Hotjar stores data for 365 days, and will then start an automatic deletion process that takes approx. 30 days.
For further details, see Hotjar's Privacy Policy
Hotjar also gives you the option of disabling Hotjar from storing data from you via your own link or managing cookies in your browser (see further down this page).
Our cookies
From time to time, we will use our own cookies to provide you with a better user experience. These may be cookies where we store the session if the Participant has finished registering their registration. Our cookies have the following name and description:
ASP.NET_SessionId : Saves visitor session state across website (s)
Expires : After the end of the session
SID1 : Saves visitor session as you start to register for an event
Expires: After the session has ended
gdprcookie_status_002 : This cookie will only be downloaded once you have approved the cookie banner that the Solution uses cookies. The last number in this cookie refers to the version. New versions will then have rising numbers.
Expires: after 1 year
Disable cookies
As a visitor to a website, you should be informed if the website uses cookies. At the same time, you should also be informed how to withdraw your consent (disable cookies).
Facebook gives you the ability to restrict the use of your data through Facebook settings. Google offers something of the same in that you can manage your ad settings whether you have a Google Account or not .
Our recommendation to manage cookies (including consent to disabling / configuring them) will be to change these settings right in your browser (such as Google Chrome or Internet Explorer). This is because you are most likely to use one specific browser and can then configure how to accept / process cookies or give you notifications. It will be much easier than having to change the settings per website you visit.
Below is a list of browsers, with a link to their guide on how to delete cookies. The same pages also contain links to how to configure your browser settings. Some of these browsers offer a "Do Not Track" feature. Such a feature will tell websites that your behavior (how to use the website) should be traceable.
We will try to keep the list below updated, but also recommend that you follow the respective websites of the following web browsers:
Google Chrome
Safari | Do Not Track Me
Internet Explorer
Firefox | Do Not Track Me
iOS (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch)
More information
If you want more information about cookies, we would also recommend reading more about this on Nettvett.no .
It also finds websites, such as YourOnlineChoices and NetwordAdvertising, that give you an overview of websites that use cookies for interest-based marketing (such as retargeting). Through these services you can also disable cookies and these settings will also be stored in your browser.
Update of cookies and policy
Deltager AS reserves the right to use cookies as long as it is expedient and that it does not violate applicable laws. Therefore, we may from time to time remove, change or add cookies.
Changes will be effected by updating the Solutions and unless otherwise required by law or consent, this will act as notice of these changes.
