The Forest and Your Health with Anna Maria Clement, PhD, LN
Earth was once covered by lush, healthy forest. When man stopped respecting this asset, we began clearcutting hundreds of millions of acres so we could raise animals to eat and in some cases use wood for our housing. This created an ecological imbalance and many species perished and others flourished causing a disruption in the natural order. Everything from the over population of deer carrying their tics to the loss of certain birds that kept in check bugs like mosquitos occurred.
Co -Director of Hippocrates Health Institute, Anna Maria Clement, will explain our powerful and essential connection with woodlands and how their loss has impacted our health. From the air we breathe, to the diseases we endure, this lost treasure has been instrumental in weakening our species and spreading disease.
Clement grew up in the forest of Sweden on the Baltic Sea and has had a lifelong personal and scientific interest in health and those things from nature that support it.
