Welcome to the “NORWEGIAN PETROLEUM DOCTOR’S COURSE”!

Following a recent review, a single course is offered to petroleum doctors practising outside of Norway. This course is a combination of the previous basic and refresher courses and meets the requirements of Regulations regarding health requirements for persons working on installations in petroleum activities offshore (FOR 2010-12-20 no.1780)

This course covers competence requirements for petroleum doctors according to  and is compulsory for physicians applying/reapplying  for approval as Norwegian petroleum doctor.

The course is approved by the Norwegian Directorate of Health and consists of  aprx. 30 hours, of which aprx. 16 hours are self-learning and a compulsory pre-course test. 

Compendium and  pre course-test will be sent by email as soon as the registration is received. The course will take place in Bergen, Norway on the 3rd and 4th of September 2024.

The closing date for registration is August 30  2024. However we are not in a position to guarantee the course will go ahead before we have a minimum number of participants. Please register as soon as possible so we can confirm the course at the earliest opportunity. Once your registration and payment is received, a full refund will be offered in the event that we are forced to cancel the course because of a lack of interest. Additional expenses incurred are done so at your own risk.

The course will be arranged at  Radisson Blu at Bryggen in Bergen, Norway 3rd to 4th of September 2024

Please see the attached programme. Attendance at all of the lectures is compulsory in order to successfully complete the course.

Programme

The registration fee of NOK 7350  includes lunch and coffee breaks both days. Accommodation (nights) at the hotel is not included.

Distance learning of approximately 16 hours must be completed prior to attendance on the course. This includes the preparation of 2 clinical cases for discussion during the course. A pretest  - multiple choice examination must also be passed before attending the taught course. All relevant course material will be sent by email immediately after you have registered.

Cancellation policy:

• Cancellation prior to 30 days in advance of the course: 100% refund of the course fee.
• Cancellation after this date: 50 % refund of the course fee.
• These rules apply, regardless of the cause of cancellation.
• If the original participant cannot attend but someone else from the same organization will attend, please notify us as soon as possible. Please note that the person who shall attend the course must complete the required distance learning prior to attendance.
• The course will be cancelled by NSMDM if we do not get enough participants. In this situation, participants already registered will receive a 100% refund.
